Job responsibilities

• Develop and troubleshoot WordPress themes and plugins
• Work with third-party applications and APIs
• Design and implement the website front-end, and develop the website architecture

• Oversee the website back-end including database and server integration
• Conduct website performance tests and implements tools for monitoring
• Troubleshoot content issues and conduct WordPress training with clients

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years experience in WordPress development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
• Advanced knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery

• Experience in building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
• Expertise in front-end frameworks, like Bootstrap or Foundation
• Experience working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Proficient understanding of website architecture, aesthetics, and SEO perspectives
• Knowledge of hosting and managing multiple sites using WPEngine
• Good understanding of Bitbucket or GitHub repositories
• Fluent in English to communicate effectively
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

• Familiarity with React.js, ASP.NET, Ruby, and PHP
• Experience interacting with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
• Attention to detail in regard to coding standards and code formatting
